For starters we will introduce to you the material essential for making clothes. Fibres. The most common one being Cotton, found in plants. But there are other options too; wool, linen, silk and more. Cotton is classified into two groups: higher quality - SAK/Supima and Peeler cotton. Now you know the basics, we will introduce to you the ways and processes thread is made.
1.Spun Threads
The fibres are spun, usually on a polyester core, into several yarns. Here is an example below!
2.Core Threads
The fibres are constantly twisted until tight and form a thread. They are then wrapped in either a polyester wrap or cotton wrap. The polyester wrap gives it chemical resistance however the cotton wrap gives it heat resistance.
3.Monocord Threads
These threads have been bonded together combining a mixture of twisting and some spinning. There threads are made to be flat are are one of the strongest threads there are.
