In this blog you will find out about the charities around you and how you can donate! Here are our top three:
1. Planet Aid
Unlike many other clothing charities, Planet Aid accepts clothing in any conditions except for dirty, wet and moldy ones. All you have to do is put any clothes you want to donate in a bag and drop it off in any of the donation boxes. To locate the nearest box, use this link : https://www.planetaid.org/find-a-bin but if there are no boxes near you, you can always mail it over to one of their workspaces, find out more through this link : https://www.planetaid.org/latest-news/pack-label-drop.
2. The Salvation Army
Alike to Planet Aid, The Salvation Army accepts nearly any textiles. From curtains and furniture to shoes and headbands. They help an estimated 23 million people per year and provide clothes to thrift stores and homeless shelters. To donate you can either find the nearest drop-off box : https://satruck.org/DropOff or schedule a pick up time for one of the Salvation Army members to pick up : https://satruck.org/donate/choose.
3. Soles4Souls
Also known as S4S, focuses on recycling shoes, but also accepts other clothes and textiles. They provide shoes for homeless shelters and work with a network of thrift stores. They even help others set up their own campaign to give clothes to those in need. Find donating info here : https://soles4souls.org/give-shoes/.
